Saturday weekend

We went to Babies R' US yesterday and bought the Chicco Capri Stroller ( Alaska Red) for Jeremy.
Since I already visited their website, it didn't take us long to decide what stroller to buy.
As posted in my previous blog, I like the Maclaren stroller but when hubby saw it, aside from the price he didn't like the quality daw.
Ok fine, you're the financier...hehe.

Aside for the stroller, we checked out also the baby registry of our good friend Maita & Windell.
Their baby shower will be on May pa but we decided to buy our gift since we're already there.
Hubby wanted to give something that the baby will use for quite a long time.
We chose the Philips AVENT Newborn Feeding Essentials.
I know that the mommy-to-be will be happy to receive this.
As a mom, I'm a big fan of Avent products.

Next we went to Oxmoor Mall to use our Macy's gift card.
It's hubby's gift card talaga, got from his visa rewards.
He told me to buy anything I want from the gift card.
Since I don't need to buy anything for myself, I decided to buy him his Issey Miyake perfume.
I've been insisting him to buy his perfume ( sinisimot nya n
a lng ung perfume nya eh, hehe).
Thank God for the Macy's gift card!

Our Oxmoor Mall trip will not be complete without going to Disney Store.
We're still a little bit far from the store but you can hear the little boy saying "Mickey, Mickey".
As usual he was so excited when he saw the disney characte
rs at the store.
My son is a big fan of Disney Cars & Toy Story( 1 & 2).

Since he has a lot of Disney Cars stuff, we bought him the buzz lightyear & woody action figure toy this time.
Good thing though it was on sale. We won't buy if it's not on sale.
When we got home, he insisted to open the box immediately.
Of course while playing with Buzz & Woody he was watching Toys Story.
I was thinking nga of writing Jeremy's name at the bottom of buzz & wood
y's shoes...gaya-gaya sa movie...hehe.

Lastly, at exactly 8pm last night, we turned off all our li
ghts.
We participated on the Earth's hour yesterday.

We're aware of the global issue that we're facing right now that's why we participated in this big event and we're proud we did.

Light Weight Stroller

We will go to Babies R' Us this Saturday to buy a light weight stroller for Jeremy.
When he turned 2, we transitioned him from a full size stroller to umbrella stroller.
We bought a simple umbroller when we had our Manila vacation last 2006 and super convenient to use.
However, since he is a toddler na, we noticed that he can't barely move whenever we put him there.
So, hubby and I decided to buy a new light weight stroller for him that we can easily bring whenever we go and much more comfortable stroller for Jeremy.
We went to Target last Saturday and I saw the Maclaren Volo Stroller but when I checked the price, oops out of the budget!
*Sigh* I like it pa naman.

Anyway, I might consider these two strollers which I saw at Target also, much more cheaper than Maclaren but with good ratings:

Evenflo

Chico

We'll check again these strollers at Babies R' Us on Saturday.

Easter Sunday

Belated, Happy Easter!
I wasn't able to post a blog yesterday, got busy with ChaCha...hehe.
Anyway, we woke up early yesterday to attend the 11am mass.
Everybody was dressed up to celebrate Easter Sunday.
After mass we went to Jade Palace in Louisville,KY to have lunch together with our good friends Matts & Bea.
The little boy wasn't able to eat lunch because he was sleeping all the time.
He had an early nap because he woke up very early.
We just ordered him Congee to take home for his lunch.
The restaurant was full, the only thing you could do yesterday was to eat out because all malls were closed.
Weird no? It's Easter, the Lord is risen! We should celebrate.
After our sumptuous lunch, we went home na.
Btw, Jeremy got several Easter gifts, thanks to Ignacio family, Ninang Carmela & family & one of hubby's patient from the nursing home ( sorry, forgot her name).

Some of our Easter Sunday pictures:

Holy Saturday

Today is Holy Saturday.
It commemorates the time that the dead body of Jesus Christ is in the grave. His soul however, was in paradise.

*******

1 Corinthians 13
(New International Version)

1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Good Friday

It's Good Friday.
It commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus at Calvary.

John 3:16 (King James Version)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Maundy Thursday

It's Maundy Thursday.
In observance of the Holy week, from here on till Holy Saturday, I'll post my favorite Bible passages.
Hope you all have a meaningful Holy week.

The LORD Is My Shepherd
Psalm 23 (King James Version)

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green [1] pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest [2] my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Clean Up, Clean Up

I read an article at BabyCenter.com about how to teach your toddler a chore.

"Assigning chores to your toddler might well seem like a chore in itself. After all, a 2-year-old isn't going to be the neatest or most efficient worker. But giving your toddler even the tiniest measure of responsibility now will pay off later by laying the groundwork for future good habits. Plus, having a chore to do makes your child feel like part of the family, someone whose contribution is valued. "

My experience:

When you have a toddler, toys are everywhere in the house.
No matter how many times you clean up, a minute or two there'll be another new toy on the loose.
I just came to the point to let go. I have a toddler, period. =)
I usually do it every night before his bedtime.
However, we do it together. He'll pick up all his lego and put it in the lego bucket.
So far, he enjoys doing it. I think for him it's a way of playing.

I'm proud of my little boy. Keep it up, son!
I Love you. =)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I woke up this morning with hubby's goodbye kiss & greeted me a Happy St. Patrick's Day.
He was even wearing a green polo shirt today for work ( o di ba, makikicelebrate talaga...hehe).
For sure, green is the color of the day!

So, what is St. Patrick's Day?

St. Patrick's Day
is an annual feast day which celebrates Saint Patrick (circa 385–461 AD), one of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on March 17.

Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated worldwide by Irish people and increasingly by non-Irish people (usually in Australia, North America, Ireland) as well. Celebrations are generally themed around all things Irish and, by association, the colour green. Both Christians and non-Christians celebrate the secular version of the holiday by wearing green or orange, eating Irish food and/or green foods, imbibing Irish drink (such as Guinness) and attending parades.

Irish colonists brought Saint Patrick's Day to what is now the United States of America. The first civic and public celebration of Saint Patrick's Day in the 13 colonies took place in Boston, Massachusetts in 1737. During this first celebration The Charitable Irish Society of Boston organized what was the first Saint Patrick's Day Parade in the colonies on 17 March 1737. The first celebration of Saint Patrick's Day in New York City was held at the Crown and Thistle Tavern in 1756, and New York's first Saint Patrick's Day Parade was held on 17 March 1762 by Irish soldiers in the British Army. In 1780, General George Washington, who commanded soldiers of Irish descent in the Continental Army, allowed his troops a holiday on 17 March. This event became known as The St. Patrick's Day Encampment of 1780. Today, Saint Patrick's Day is widely celebrated in America by Irish and non-Irish alike.

Americans celebrate the holiday by wearing green clothing. Many people, regardless of ethnic background, wear green-coloured clothing and items. Traditionally, those who are caught not wearing green are pinched. Though this practice is in fact alien to those who actually come from Ireland.

Some cities paint the traffic stripe of their parade routes green. Chicago dyes its river green and has done so since 1961 when sewer workers used green dye to check for sewer discharges and got the idea to turn the river green for St. Patrick's Day. Indianapolis also dyes its main canal green. Savannah dyes its downtown city fountains green. University of Missouri Rolla - St Pat's Board Alumni paint 12 city blocks kelly green with mops before the annual parade.

Another Way to Make Money Online

It's been a week na ata since my last post.
To be begin with, last Friday we had a snow storm. We woke up the following day with an accumulation of 8-12 inches of snow.
Of course, we went outside and let our little boy play in the snow. He had so much fun! Once again he cried when we told him it's time to go back inside the house. Silly boy, hehe.
Pictures in my multiply site. =)

Since the new year started, I've been looking for a work at home jobs.
Aside for the paid blogging which I'm still not qualified until now...hehe.
I'm a ChaCha search guide now.
This is why I've been kinda busy this week and wasn't able to post anything in my blog.
I learned this from Women For Hire work at home opportunities.
I took a couple of steps to become a ChaCha guide and I passed naman.
ChaCha is a search engine that pays human "guides" to answer questions for users.
Actually, I've been in the US for 4yrs na but I don't have an idea that this kind of human guides exists.
Just text your questions to 242242 and a ChaCha guide sends you the answer!
If you want to be a ChaCha guide, let me know. I have 10 invites under my name.
It's almost a week since I became a guide and so far, so good naman. =)

It was also featured in Good Morning America in their new segment take control of your life.

I Won't Last A Day Without You

My terrible but sweet toddler turned 27 month old today.
I would like to post the lyrics of this song because the other day he gave me our magic sing mic and said "Mama, sing".
I'm not a good singer, but anything for my son. =)
It's another mother & son bonding moment.

I Won't Last A Day Without You
( Carpenters )

Day after day, I must face a world of strangers
Where I don't belong, I'm not that strong
It's nice to know that there's someone I can turn to
Who will always care, you're always there

When there's no gettin' over that rainbow

When my smallest of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day without you

So many times when the city seems to be
Without a friendly face, a lonely place
It's nice to know that you'll be there if I need you
And you'll always smile, it's all worthwhile

When there's no gettin' over that rainbow
When my smallest of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day without you

Touch me and I end up singing
Trouble seems to up and disappear
You touch me with the love you're bringing
I can't really lose when you're near
When you're near, my love

If all my friends have forgotten half their promises
They're not unkind, just hard to find
One look at you and I know
That I must learn to live without the rest
I've found the best

When there's no gettin' over that rainbow
When my smallest of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day without you

When there's no gettin' over that rainbow
When my smallest of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day ....without you

Happy monthsary son. I love you so much....I really won't last a day without you.

New Earth Web Event at Oprah

I joined the New Earth Web Event at Oprah.com last night.
Got ready 15mins before the 9pm webcast, unfortunately I didn't finish the discussion because the video suddenly stopped.
Haay, I'm kinda excited pa naman to participate in this big event.
I put my son muna to sleep and when I checked back the website, I saw this:

"We are are experiencing technical difficulties due to internet congestion. We recommend that you come back tomorrow to watch the entire webcast easily on Oprah.com. You can even download the podcast on Oprah.com or iTunes."

Good thing though I can still watch the webcast video again.
Will check it later.
