Sex and the City Trailer

"Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous." ~Carrie~

Finally, the wait is over!
I can't wait to see the movie.
Hubby and I will probably have a date on May 30...hehehe.

Trip to SIGS Sportsplex

We went to SIGS Sportsplex yesterday to inquire about their toddler swimming class.
They have 5 programs; gymnastics, cheerleading, swimming, bounce time, and open gym.
When we saw the swimming pool and kids having fun in the water, Jeremy got excited and even thought that we're going inside the pool area.
The Spring schedule for the swimming program will start on March 23-June 7.
Since my son is a toddler, he will be in a parent and tot swimming class.
A water exploration class for toddlers accompanied by adults.
It's a 10 week session every Thursday and Saturday.
We're still thinking when to enroll him because there's another Summer schedule on June 8- August 16.
Hubby thought that it might be too early for next month because of the cold weather.
I'm really excited to enroll my son in a toddler activity class like this.
I would like to expose him an activity where he can mingle with other people especially with kids same his age.
I like the Gymboree class also but their nearest location is in Louisville, KY which is quite far from our house.
We enjoyed our tour to SIGS especially when we saw the kids taking their gymnastic class.
When we told Jeremy that it's time to go home, he immediately answered us with a big "NO". He even ended up crying because he really doesn't want to go.
Don't worry son, you'll soon have your 10 weeks fun there. =)

What Hairstyle is Right for Me?

I have an appointment with my hairstylist on Saturday at Ecotage Salon.
I want to look different this time. The last time I had my hair cut so short was before I got pregnant.
I really like Victoria Beckham's hair but since I'm not as slender as before, I'm not sure if I will look good with this haircut.

Anyway, I got this from BlogThings.com.
I just answered a couple of questions and here's the result:

Your Ideal Hairstyle:

Soft Layers

Problem solved! I think this hairstyle will work for me.
Aside for the haircut, I will have my hair color too.
A little "kakikayan moment" for Mommy on saturday huh! go girl! hehehe

It's about time

Jeremy co-sleeps with us since birth.
His playpen is only for nap time, time out and if I have an important things to do.
He has also a 5 in 1 crib which we already transformed to a toddler bed but he does not want to sleep there.
However, just this week he learned to climb and get out of his playpen that's why hubby and I decided to keep the playpen because it is not safe anymore.
Since he fell asleep while playing in the living room last night, I got the chance to put him in his toddler bed. Yipee! hehe
I will surely miss him in our room but it is about time to teach him to sleep in his own room.
This will be another challenge for us. We're still not yet done with the potty training though (still no luck at all...haay, patience mommy, patience).

Just an update, he woke up at 5:30am and went straight to our room.
He ended up sleeping in our bed! But, it's OK, at least he was able to sleep for several hours in his room.
Way to go son, I know you can make it!

We might go to Bowles Mattress Company this afternoon to look for a twin bed for him.
We're considering to buy him a real bed which he can use for a long time, much more spacious than his toddler bed.
As I was surfing the net yesterday, I found this at Walmart.com
I hope we can find a similar one like this at Bowles.
I really like the storage compartment.

My Top 6 Favorite ( top 12 girls)

"Thanks for voting contestant #10".
Yes, I'm voting right now for Ramielle Malubay while writing this blog.
She did great on her rendition of "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me".
I think Ramielle is way way better than Jasmine Trias, also a Filipino-American from Season 3.
Randy, Paula & Simon liked her performance tonight.
I don't like her outfit though, it didn't match the song.
Well, what matter is that this sweet girl has a potential to win the American Idol.

Based on their performance tonight, here are my top 6 favorite:

Goodluck Ramielle! Mabuhay ang Pinoy!!!

I received a beautiful white roses early in the morning.

Then as promised to hubby, I cooked a special dinner for him; Rib-Eye Steaks W/ Mushrooms, Brandy and Blue Cheese, Vegetable Stir-fry, Garlic rice & for dessert Chocolate Cheesecake.
This was the only picture we had, I just grabbed my cell phone & cheeeeese!!!

I didn't buy any gift for hubby except for the valentines card & the special dinner I prepared for him & I'm glad that he liked it!

Then the following day we had a post valentines dinner with our good friends Matts & Bea at The Patron in Louisville,Ky.

It was our first time there.
Food was great, unfortunately there was no kiddie meal for my son.
We just ordered him his favorite french fries and ate almost all the vegetables in my plate...good thing he eats vegetables. =)
I had the Seared Sea Bass while hubby had the Patron Paella.
Food was great and we liked it!
Kudos to Matts because he was the one who chose the place & made the reservation.
The service was good also, servers were accommodating & nice.
By the way there was a nice married couple who approached us before they leave, they said how cute our son is & well mannered.
I was touched with the complement they gave to my son.
He was the only the kid in the restaurant that night. I am so proud of my son the way he behaved that night.
Keep it up son!

Check out some of the pictures!

Jeremy busy checking the menu......

We had a winter storm twice this week.
This is my 2nd time to experience a high accumulation of snow in our area.
So I decided to go outside, have some fun with my little boy.
I thought he might not like it, but he did have fun.
When I told him that it's time to go inside the house, he even cried & said NO!...hehehe.

A valentines recipe

I promised hubby that I would cook something special for him on Valentines day.
I searched on the internet last night & found this recipe "Rib-Eye Steaks W/ Mushrooms, Brandy and Blue Cheese".

For the dessert I'll make the No Bake Chocolate Cheesecake.
Yummy, yummy, yummy!
I already bought the ingredients this afternoon in spite of the winter storm outside...excited huh...hehehe.
I'm still thinking though of other recipe that will complement the Rib-eye steak.
I didn't buy any gift for hubby except for the valentines card, well, for a change I'll prepare something for him this valentines just like he did to me last year...check out my multiply blog.

Btw, we will have a formal dinner on Friday with our good friends Matts & Bea. I don't know where, the two guys wanted it as a surprise.

A new book to read

Oprah featured a new book in her show for Oprah's book club entitled "A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose" by Eckhart Tolle the other day.

*****

Book Description:

The highly anticipated follow-up to the 2,000,000 copy bestselling inspirational book, The Power of Now

With his bestselling spiritual guide The Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle inspired millions of readers to discover the freedom and joy of a life lived "in the now." In A New Earth, Tolle expands on these powerful ideas to show how transcending our ego-based state of consciousness is not only essential to personal happiness, but also the key to ending conflict and suffering throughout the world. Tolle describes how our attachment to the ego creates the dysfunction that leads to anger, jealousy, and unhappiness, and shows readers how to awaken to a new state of consciousness and follow the path to a truly fulfilling existence.

The Power of Now was a question-and-answer handbook. A New Earth has been written as a traditional narrative, offering anecdotes and philosophies in a way that is accessible to all. Illuminating, enlightening, and uplifting, A New Earth is a profoundly spiritual manifesto for a better way of life—and for building a better world.

*****

It's been awhile since I last finished a book, the last one was "For One More Day" by Mich Albom. I love reading Albom's books.
So, when I saw Eckhart Tolle's book at Oprah I was inspired to read another book.
I don't read book that much, it just that from time to time there's a new book that will caught my attention.
I checked the book immediately online & found out that it's very affordable ($8.40)...within my budget...hehe.
Unfortunately, when I was in Target this afternoon I didn't see one.
I'll just go to WaldenBooks tomorrow at GreenTree Mall, I hope I can find it there.
Since Oprah launched this in her show, I bet a lot of people will buy this book.
Anyway, I know it's about time to feed my mind & heart with something interesting to read.

NAIA Closure

I read this article from my friendster this morning. I even googled it to confirm & true enough I found some links related to this news ( Manila Times & GMANews TV ).
Travel time from
Louisville, KY to Manila, Philippines is 20+ hrs, now if this happens, it will take us additional hours to finally be with our families. Plus the hassle of traveling from Clark to Manila (I mean the traffic).
It's not a bad idea though to expand & renovate the DMIA but to consider it as the main international airport & close the
Ninoy Aquino International Airport? Come on!

CLARK FREEPORT -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has announced that the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) in Manila will be closed to give way to the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) here as the main international airport of the country.

Clark will now be the new premier airport, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo declared during last Tuesday's Cabinet meeting in MalacaƱang convened to discuss the future of Philippine aviation, including DMIA's role as a developmental route where a liberalized regime of air policies will be in effect. Prior to issuing the directive, Transportation Secretary Leandro Mendoza briefed the President on the need to transfer Naia's operations to DMIA to ensure the country's economic competitiveness.

"For the Philippines to be competitive, we have to close Naia as our major gateway and transfer to Clark," Mendoza said referring to an impending multi-lateral agreement providing for an open skies regime among a number of Asian countries including the Philippines .

"In other words, you are saying Clark will not just be a developmental route, it will now be the premier airport," Arroyo told Mendoza adding Clark will now be phased in as the premier airport because Naia is too crowded already.

Mendoza revealed that the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) member-countries, including Japan , Korea and China , have already agreed to adopt open skies in the region beginning with unlimited flights between capital cities by December 2008.

Secretary Edgardo Pamintuan of the Subic-Clark Alliance for Development Council also confirmed Malacanang's latest pronouncements on the fate of the country's main international gateway.

"The President has declared during the last Cabinet meeting, which was fully supported by Secretary Mendoza, that DMIA will no longer be treated as a developmental route but as the main international airport of the country,"

Pamintuan said.
Pamintuan also revealed that Arroyo is inclined to sign and issue a new executive order liberalizing aviation over the DMIA and the Subic International Airport in Subic Freeport Zone in Zambales.

He said Arroyo instructed Presidential Chief Legal Counsel Sergio Apostol to review and come up with a final draft of a proposed Executive Order (EO) 500-B that will amend the existing EO 500-A.

"The President also instructed the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) and other Cabinet members to study the aviation policies of Vietnam which has been experiencing dramatic growth of its tourism industry and determine whether these policies could be adopted to our advantage," Pamintuan said.

Clark officials, led by Clark International Airport Corporation (Ciac) chairman Nestor Mangio, Clark Development Corporation (CDC) chairman Rizalino Navarro, CDC President Levy Laus and Ciac Executive Vice President Alexander Cauguiran, also attended the Cabinet meeting in MalacaƱang to lobby for the approval of the proposed EO 500-B.

Mangio welcomed the Arroyo's pronouncement on DMIA as the new main gateway adding, "it is the right thing to do to serve our national interests."
"DMIA is more than enough to answer our country need for a modern and efficient international gateway which is important for us to sustain our economic competitiveness in international trade and commerce," Mangio said.

Right now, according to Mangio, Clark 's 2,500-hectare civil aviation complex is undergoing a major facelift starting with the phased expansion of its passenger terminal to accommodate around two million passengers per year.

"This initial phase of terminal expansion is expected to be finished by the first week of March this year."

Happy Monthsary!

It's Jeremy's "monthsary birthday" today. He's 26 months old.
We used to buy cake & celebrate this monthly for the 1st 11mons of his life. It's like a Filipino tradition. Some Filipinos will cook pansit too to celebrate this occasion.
We stopped doing this when Jeremy turned 1. After his 1st birthday celebration, we just give him hugs & kisses every month...hehe.
Check out his monthly birthday cake in my multiply site.

Happy 26th month old, Ize! We'll surely buy you a cake on your 3rd birthday.
God bless your potty training son!
We love you.

Time to shed those extra pounds

I think it's almost 3mons since I last went to the gym.

Winter weather has been my excuse...it's very cold outside.
O well, excuses...excuses!
I know that I need to hit the gym again & shed those Holiday pounds I gained.
No pain, no gain girl.

Again, winter weather is not a good excuse.
Hit the gym!

NY Giants- SuperBowl Champion

Congratulations to NewYork Giants for winning the Super Bowl XLII!!!
Final score: 17-14
"No one plays the underdog role better than the Giants." ( Giants.com)

Suprisingly, I enjoyed watching the game. Imagine I watched it from start to finish which I don't normally do. Hubby & I were really cheering for the Giants.
The game was good. Just when you thought Patriots will win....not this time. To Tom Brady, you're such a cutie guy...I like your eyes...plus you're wearing my favorite number (12)...next time don't bring your "girl" to the game...she's not your lucky charm...hehe.

It's a back to back championship for the Manning brothers!
Hope to see Colts playing the next Super Bowl game.=)

It's 4:23pm, 52degrees outside. Surprisingly, it's not too cold!
We'll have a "free" dinner with our friends after mass c/o Mr. "generous" Paolo.
I'll try to post again later about the dinner.

Finally....

Whew! Finally, a new look in my blogger account.
I'm really happy for the big improvement I made in my blog site.
I know that in the following days, you can see additional changes/updates in my blog.
I have this blog since 2005, imagine those years I wasted for not paying attention in my own blog.
But, better late than never huh! Thanks to my yahoo groups ( N@W), we had an interesting topic there about paid blogging ( I'm still reading the discussion though, I didn't pay attention at first because I'm not into blogging.)
This is it, I'm joining the trend...BLOGGING!

Feel free to visit my site!

Btw, it's 29degrees outside.
