TWENTY THINGS A MOM SHOULD TELL HER SON
TWENTY THINGS A MOM SHOULD TELL HER SON
1. Play a sport.
It will teach you how to win honorably,
lose gracefully, respect authority,
work with others, manage your time
and stay out of trouble.
And maybe even throw or catch.
2. You will set the tone for the sexual relationship,
so don't take something away from her that you can't give back.
3. Use careful aim when you pee.
Somebody's got to clean that up, you know.
4. Save money when you're young because you're going to need it someday.
5. Allow me to introduce you to the dishwasher, oven,
washing machine, iron, vacuum, mop and broom.
Now please go use them.
6. Pray and be a spiritual leader.
7. Don't ever be a bully and don't ever start a fight,
but if some idiot clocks you, please defend yourself.
8. Your knowledge and education is something that nobody can take away from you.
9. Treat women kindly.
Forever is a long time to live alone and it's even longer to live with somebody
who hates your guts.
10. Take pride in your appearance.
11. Be strong and tender at the same time.
12. A woman can do everything that you can do.
This includes her having a successful career
and you changing diapers at 3 A.M.
Mutual respect is the key to a good relationship.
13. "Yes ma'am" and "yes sir"
still go a long way.
14. The reason that they're called "private parts" is because they're "private".
Please do not scratch them in public.
15. Peer pressure is a scary thing.
Be a good leader and others will follow.
16. Bringing her flowers for no reason is always a good idea.
17. It is better to be kind than to be right.
18. A sense of humor goes a long way
in the healing process.
19. Please choose your spouse wisely.
My daughter-in-law will be the gatekeeper for me
spending time with you and my grandchildren.
20. Remember to call your mother
because I might be missing you.

Preggy Me!
I would like to share the good news, we're expecting baby boy #3! Yes a boy again. We're hoping for a baby girl ( obviously) this time but 2 ultrasounds showed it's a baby boy again! It's ok as long as the baby is perfectly healthy. Hubby and I are blessed to have another child. He is due next month, June 21. One more month and I'm going to be a third time mom...awesome! I'm praying for a healthy and normal delivery. =)

The End of Facebook?
So, what if one day you wake up and find out that the famous social networking site is gone?
Can you still get in touch with all your friends, relatives or even families without Facebook or even remember their birthdays?
There's a buzz going around in the internet that Facebook is shutting down for good on March 15...OMG!
But, behold FB addicts..according to Facebook Director this is a hoax.
Here's the link for the complete article about this rumor.
http://www.cnn.com/2011/TECH/social.media/01/10/fb.shutdown.rumor.mashable/
Whether this is true or not it's best to save your friends' contact information on your phone or directory book before you go crazy again on how to reconnect with your long lost friends.
And if FB will be gone soon, there's a twitter anyway....lol!

Happy 2011!
Holiday season went by so fast. It was like yesterday when we celebrated the Thanksgiving and put up our Christmas tree and all the christmas decorations in the house. December was really a busy month for all of us. Parties every week, christmas shopping and endless gift wrapping. It's really fun to celebrate Christmas!
My family and I are excited to welcome 2011, it means in 2 months from now we'll be "home" again...home again with our families in the Philippines. It's our much anticipated Philippine vacation...horaay for that! We can't wait to see and be with our families and friends there. I even downloaded a countdown app for that, talking about excitement huh!
So much to look forward to this new year. But most of all let's all be thankful to the Lord for the another year of life...let's continue to be grateful and glorify him. Here's a fruitful and blessed 2011 to all of us...cheers!!!
Welcome 2011. Btw, one of my new year's resolution is to update frequently my blog.
Happy weekend everyone!

Oh my, Kuya is sick!
It's really hard to see when your child is sick. Just this morning my Jeremy started not feeling well. It was very unusual for him to take a nap in the middle of the morning. I just noticed the fever when I was about to give him a bath. When I took his temperature, it was 99 degrees. I decided not to give him a bath and told him to lay down instead and take a rest. I immediately gave him an Ibuprofen syrup to relieve the fever. While taking care of my sick boy, I asked myself, why did he get sick? When he woke up this morning he was perfectly fine. Did he get a virus yesterday when we went out to get his Dad's iPhone at Oxmoor Mall? Oh my poor little boy, if only Mommy can take that fever instantly.
Came lunch I prepared a noodle soup for him and a cup of juice to drink. We were in the middle of feeding when he suddenly threw up. He was crying this time and telling me "Mom, I'm not feeling well". My heart was broken into pieces seeing him like this but I kept myself calm and told him that he's gonna be OK. Good thing he still ate a little bit and took a nap again. Although I continue to give him the Ibuprofen syrup every six hours, the fever went on and off the whole afternoon.
Hubby and I were happy when he finished his dinner this evening. So far no fever and no throwing up this time. We're hoping for a fever free the whole night otherwise we will bring him to the Doctor for a check up tomorrow. I still like to see my boy goofing inside the house or playing with his little brother rather than being him sick.
Lord, please take away my son's fever. We miss his "kakulitan"
We love you Jeremy. Get well soon.

Party Time!
How time flies so fast. Just last year I was anticipating the arrival of my baby boy. Here I am now busy preparing for his 1st Birthday party. My Bryce is turning ONE!
Hubby and I chose the Toy Story 3 theme for our Bryce's birthday party. When we watched the movie, we even brought him with us and we're happy that he was behaved the whole time we were watching the movie. I guess our Bryce enjoyed seeing the Toy Story 3 gang! Funny because when Kuya Jeremy turned One in 2006, Pixar also released their movie Disney Cars which we used for his birthday theme and now here's another Pixar movie. Perfect timing indeed! Oh I love Pixar!

Birthday parties are for kids but preparing for their party are for mommies right? Yesterday we were at Dollar Store & Card Factory outlet buying Toy Story 3 items for party favor. The more I got excited for my son's party...yey! I'm expecting some party supplies from the Philippines next month. Thanks for hubby's Aunt and sister-in-law for helping me with the tarpaulin and party favors for the adult guests. We'll distribute the party invites first week of August. A lot of things to accomplish in my "to do list", will take one step at a time here. I'm not hoping for a "perfect" birthday party but an enjoyable and memorable one for my Bryce.

Welcome to the World!
I Would like to introduce you to the newest addition to our growing family....
BRYCE GABRIEL C. LOPEZ, 5lbs 15 1/2oz & 20 inches long.

I gave birth last August 26, 2009, 1:14pm at Clark Memorial Hospital via normal delivery. My original due date was Sept 11, 2009, when I reached my 36th weeks, my OB scheduled me for an induction on Sept. 8, 2009 as per my request because I did not want to reach my 40th week...very much eager to give birth na!
I was really extra careful with my second pregnancy because I did not want to have another premature delivery again. I was on strictly diet from my 2nd trimester till I gave birth because I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I strictly followed the diet and blood sugar monitoring 4x/day. I missed eating dessert, summer pa naman! O well, better to be careful than to say sorry later! At least I did not gain a lot of weight this pregnancy ( my consolation for not eating sweets..yey!)
Aside from the gestational diabetes my 2nd pregnancy went very well. I had this feeling that on my 37th week I will give birth and oh boy I was right..talking about mother's instict huh!. At 3pm on August 26, my water bag broke, went to the hospital immediately. I was lucky because aside from Dr. Wright (my OB since my 1st pregnancy), Dr. Oliver Montoya, my anesthesiologist with Jeremy was on call that day...Thank God for that! My contractions/labor started around 7am and started pushing past 12pm. I promised myself I will do my best to have a perfect pushing this time ( I was terrible with Jeremy, o well that was my first time) and I did it! At 1:14pm Bryce was finally out, I was able to deliver another human being in this world.Thank God for a healthy & normal delivery.
We're officially a family of four. With 3 boys in the house ( including hubby), let the fun begin! Question is, are we going to have another one, a baby girl in the next 2 to 3 years? I'll pray for that. For the meantime, I'll enjoy my baby Bryce and Kuya Jeremy too.

Oh yes, Oh Yes, It's Christmas!
It's 28 days till Christmas and as early as Friday last week, we already put up our Christmas tree.
The little boy helped in hanging the ornaments and even pushed the button to officially light the tree.
He was so excited and happy when he saw the decorated Christmas tree.
For my next agenda this weekend, shopping & wrapping Christmas gifts! ( I love wrapping christmas gifts...hehehe)
